I fell in love with Paris on my first visit at 13 and vowed to one day live here and become Editor in Chief of French Vogue.

Happy to report that (so far) I'm one for two.

In 2012, I moved to Paris for a year to do some food writing. I kept a croissant notebook and a macaron notebook (as you do) and fell in love with the rhythms and rituals of French life.

I started asking questions I couldn't stop asking: Why does everything taste so much better here? (The butter!) Why are these simple foods and rituals so soul-soothing?

And the question that never went away: could I live in Paris forever?

Turns out, the answer was yes. Fourteen years, a career in advertising and tech, and two cities later (SF and NYC), I moved back to Paris.

I started La Vie en Beurre Paris to share some of my favorite places in the city's most beautiful and iconic neighborhoods. And I’m doing it with food tours built around the one ingredient that makes French food taste like French food: le beurre, the butter.
